Biography - Arden
Arden is currently in the 4th grade, and has been doing gymnastics for the past 4 years. She spends 4 days a week after school practicing at the gym, logging about 15 hours a week working on her skills. She enjoys flipping and loves doing bars. Arden believes in herself and in her athletic abilities
“Boys aren't the only people who can do sports! A lot of people at school think that gymnastics isn't a sport, but I love to prove them wrong. Floor is my favorite event.”
One of the things that she enjoys the least about being a competitive gymnast,
“I don't get to hang out with my friends at the after school program as much as I like. You can get hurt easily, I have to be careful.”
Arden’s favorite activities outside the gym are singing in the Moravian Children's Choir, participating in the Moravian Jr. Fellowship, playing Piano, and the JY Joyner Elementary School Odyssey of the mind, as well as participating in the JY Joyner Pieces of Gold.
Her hard work and dedication to her sport has won her several awards including the 2007 Prep Optional Rookie 1 state meet: 1st place floor and 2nd place all-around. Arden also holds the title for 2007 Level 4 state meet: 4th place floor and 5th place all-around. And at the 2007 Capital city invite, Arden completed her regular Level 4 season with a first place all-around finish, and a 36.6 all around score. This was the first meet Arden scored over a 9.0 on all events.
Arden’s favorite foods are Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, & Cajun foods. Her favorite color is hot pink and she love Miley Cyrus’ song Breakout.
Arden is competing at level 5 this year, and proudly represents Raleigh School of Gymnastics. Please join us in wishing her a successful and safe season!
